Amanda sat alone in the middle of her realm. She felt as though she had gone through trial after trial lately… and she was exhausted. It seemed to be more of a common occurrence than the others knew, but how would they know when she locked herself away from the rest of them. Her footsteps were gentle against the hard concrete floors. Her dark eyes looked over the meat plant. Sometimes the frozen memories served as a sort of grounding mechanism for her, but some days, like today, they opened wounds buried deep down inside of her.
A scoff escaped her lips at her thoughts. There was no point in self loathing right now. Amanda walked into the main room of her home. Where her alcove was neatly organized and the cameras that watched over the realm continuously filmed. She sat down at the table right in front of the stairs, looking over a reverse bear trap on the table without touching it. The pig mask that she normally wore rested beside it and Amanda regarded it with little interest at the moment.
She lifted her slender fingers to her head, running them through her short and messy hair. Irritation rolled over her as she leaned forwards, tugging at different mechanical pieces as she tried to change something without knowing what she even wanted to change. All she knew was that she needed to tamper with the traps and make them worse for the survivors. She couldn’t stand the idea of making things easy for them when they would be just as brutal towards her if they had the chance.
Amanda clenched the trap tightly, a frown spreading across her lips as anger began to overcome her, but she was quickly snapped out of the trance. She placed her hands on the table, standing up and narrowing her eyes. She had heard one of the unnatural gates of the meat plant open. Amanda knew now wasn’t the time for a trial. They never started like this. That meant that another killer had wandered somewhere they weren’t welcome.
She pulled her dark red coat closed and walked up the stairs towards the camera room. Her eyes flicked between screens until she landed on an unfamiliar figure. It was the entity’s newest recruit. She sucked in air sharply as she narrowed her glance, noting his features. He had a cocky disposition and she could already tell she wouldn’t like him. He didn’t seem to be too much taller than her. Not like other killers anyway. If he would put up a fight she was fairly confident that she could push him out.
Amanda spun on her heels, walking away from the room once she saw which way he was headed. She didn’t bother putting on her mask. It wouldn’t be a necessity. She held her arm at her side, feeling the blade extend and smirking slightly. She crouched down once she was close, making her way behind a wall that she knew he would have to turn if he was to continue exploring. She would stand up silently, her back pressed towards the corner as she waited.
Once his footsteps were close enough she lifted the blade up, letting it stop right in front of his neck. When his footsteps stopped she sighed loudly, looking straight ahead of her and not regarding him completely yet. Amanda waited for a few seconds before stepping out from behind the wall and standing face to face with the stranger. An indifferent, and perhaps slightly annoyed, glance greeted him.
“Why of all places did you have to come here?”
